Brain Waves
Your words were empty, hallow as they filled my skull, tiny taps against my brain, making it shudder and shake. The scary thing was though, that I actually felt their vibrations, shaking my brain, buzzing, brain waves that did not belong to my brain.
It’s not nearly as scary as the decent into an anxiety lapse, not as terrifying as flashbacks and ugly memories, not as tainting as words that are screamed against mirrors. Still here we are, facing brain waves, instead of shaking hands.
